Additional Details on Mardi Gras’ French Quarter Zone Revealed in New Episode of Carnival’s Behind-the-Scenes Video Series – Carnival Cruise Line News

Gearing up for the arrival of the new Mardi Gras later this year, Carnival Cruise Line revealed additional details on the ship’s French Quarter zone in the latest episode of “Behind The Fun: The Making of Mardi Gras.”

In a nod to the festive culture of New Orleans, the French Quarter will showcase a variety of options for lively entertainment as well as delicious dining and cocktail experiences.

These include Brass Magnolia, a bar inspired by the city’s Garden District and jazz culture. Adorned with ornate décor reminiscent of the grand mansions of the South, brass instruments and a vibrant gold bar with lush greenery wall accents, guests will enjoy live jazz and blues along with classic cocktails.

Also featured is the Fortune Teller Bar, featuring Victorian design elements with a contemporary twist, conveying the uniqueness of New Orleans with hand-crafted cocktails that change color, bubble and shimmer. The curated collection of interactive cocktails blended with mesmerizing effects includes the Abracadabra, the Golden Galaxy made with real gold and the all-black New Moon.

Completing the French Quarter will be Emeril’s Bistro 1396, world-renowned chef and restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s first seagoing restaurant. Named after Mardi Gras’ hull number at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the restaurant will showcase Lagasse’s signature dishes including cochon de lait po-boys and his famous barbecue shrimp, as well as Creole favorites including gumbo and jambalaya.

These spaces are highlighted in the latest of the eight-episode video series featuring Carnival’s Vice President of Beverage Operations Edward Allen who joins Lagasse in his New Orleans restaurant to sample a few of the French Quarter’s food and beverage offerings and talk through the zone’s look and feel. Hosted by Mardi Gras’ Cruise Director Matt Mitcham and Brand Ambassador John Heald, the behind-the-scenes series is available on all of Carnival’s social channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram leading up to the ship’s maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Fla., November 14, which kicks off a year-round seven-day schedule of Caribbean voyages from the Space Coast.
