Carnival Foundation, in partnership with the Miami HEAT and Florida Prepaid College Foundation, presented 17 South Florida students with four-year college scholarships during halftime at last night’s HEAT game.
The students currently participate in the Carnival Scholarship & Mentoring Program, an innovative workplace program sponsored by Carnival and the Miami HEAT, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami that pairs a student with an employee mentor from Carnival. By various means, and mostly by charter flight from Buenos Aires, we arrived in Ushuaia. Following the spine of the Andes throughout the morning, our flight crossed countless volcanic peaks and, as we ap-proached Tierra del Fuego, glaciers grew in frequency and size.
