Yakima nixes lowrider cruise permit on split vote
YAKIMA — Reversing itself on a technicality and arguing over cultural sensitivities, a split Yakima City Council rejected a permit for a lowrider cruise later this month. Last month the council voted in favor of a permit for the Lowcos Car Club, which plans to stage a car show at Union Gap’s Fullbright Park on Aug. 28 and wanted permission to cruise uptown as part of the festivities.
